The iPhone 13 series is divided into 4 models, all of which use OLED panels. Two of the highest-end models will use LTPO OLED panels, which can not only reduce driving power consumption, but also support a high refresh rate of 120Hz.
Last year, SDC supplied LTPO OLED panels for the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra for the first time. At present, SDC is planning to convert part of the production capacity of the A3 production line in Asan City, South Korea to produce LTPO TFT screens. The production line has a monthly capacity of 105,000 pieces, and about 60,000 pieces of production capacity will be converted into LTPO TFT OLED screen.
As another screen supplier for the iPhone 12 series, LG Display is unable to provide Apple with LTPO OLED panels this year due to the development of related technologies. The company plans to supply LTPO OLED in 2022.
It is reported that LGD is currently building a 5K-scale LTPO TFT line on the E6 production line in Pazhou City, South Korea. It is planned to place orders for equipment with a capacity of 10,000 in the first half and the second half of the year, and to complete the investment in the LTPO line with a monthly capacity of 25,000 by the end of the year.
Korean media also pointed out that all models of iPhone 13 this year will use On-Cell OLED.
The 8 inch displays might be affected and delay for an accident.
New iPhone 13 Series will use On-Cell OLED Displays. And it that will be launched in the second half of this year will be exclusively supplied by Samsung Display (SDC)
