Second, the LCD screen casing size settings
If the window of the LCD casing is larger than the visible area (TFT OPEN), the metal frame of the display will be exposed and very unattractive. On the other hand, if the window is smaller than the effective area (TFT AA), we will cover the image displayed on the screen. Therefore, we should design the LCD LCD shell in terms of the most important parameter dimensions, i.e. OD, OPEN and AA.
The opening of the display in the shell should be larger than the Outer Dimension (OD) of the LCD LCD included in the drawing because the display cannot be placed tightly in the shell, which will result in damage to the FFC tape or the display. An offset of approximately 2mm may be appropriate. When designing the enclosure for an LCD touch module, attention should be paid to the dimensions of the upper glass (length, width, and corner radius), the touch panel, and the thickness of the glass and mounting tape. For display modules with mounting frames, the diameter and spacing of the mounting holes are important parameters. All of these dimensions should be considered when designing the LCD enclosure.
III. LCD housing assembly process
The correct assembly process of LCD module in housing is very important. Very common damages during incorrect assembly process are: loss of FFC; separation of throttle position from transmission fluid; damage to thin film transistor glass; and bending of LCD frame.
During the first stage of mounting the display module in the housing, you should take care to protect the edges of the FFC to ensure that the FFC is not damaged. We recommend using a support assembled on the back of the display. The additional support will stiffen the entire structure and minimize the effects of external factors such as vibration and temperature changes. You should be very careful not to put too much pressure on the module during the mounting of the LCD in the housing. Too much pressure will not help you get better adhesion.
